World Business Lenders (WBL) provides general purpose short-term real estate collateralized commercial loans to a broad customer base comprised of small and medium sized businesses throughout the United States that lack access to traditional funding. WBL services its loan portfolio and loan portfolios for third parties, specializing in the management of non-performing loan pools and REO.
WBL is a U.S.-based company with a 100% remote workforce. The company is seeking to bolster its staff with qualified talent in the world. This position will be a remote role based.
This is a remote Contract/Consultant position. Working hours will be 9:00am-6:00pm Eastern Time, Monday through Friday. The job requires excellent oral and written command of the English language. Resumes must be submitted in English. Resumes provided in other languages will not be reviewed.
Position Overview
In a fast paced, high expectation, results oriented environment, the Asset Resolution Legal Analyst will be responsible for assisting Asset Resolution in-house counsel and managing a portfolio of non-performing real estate collateralized commercial loans and REO. Core responsibilities include the development, implementation and monitoring (while working with outside counsel) of appropriate collection, loss mitigation and recovery strategies, weekly reporting and quarterly file analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and report on all legal matters and litigation related to non-performing real estate collateralized commercial loan portfolio, including REO, toward most effective and efficient resolution
- Conduct proactive and effective case analysis in accordance with established performance standards
- Assist Asset Resolution in-house counsel with monitoring and managing commercial litigation/bankruptcy/foreclosure activities, functions and deadlines
- Liaise with Asset Resolution in-house counsel and outside attorneys, collection agencies and other vendors that support the loss mitigation effort
- Prepare case specific legal analysis and reporting for Asset Resolution in-house counsel
- Assist in legal budget and legal invoice tracking for the Asset Resolution Department
- Other projects and duties as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum four-year college degree in Law Degree or related field
- Licensed to practice law
- Licensed to practice law in at least one United States jurisdiction strongly preferred
- Experience working in commercial litigation/bankruptcy/foreclosure/loss mitigation within a United States law firm as a paralegal or attorney strongly preferred
- Strong organization and decision-making skills
- Demonstrated analytical and reasoning skills, and innovative approach to solving both practical and theoretical problems
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications
- Strong work ethic with ability to thrive in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment
- You must have your own laptop or desktop to use (the company does not supply equipment)
- Excellent English fluency and communication skills, both written and verbal
